Open Doors

“When one door closes, another opens.”
“When God closes a door, He opens a window.”

How many times have you heard words like those,
and wondered, especially at a hard time in your life,
Is it true?

I’m at a place in my life journey
where I’m finding that it completely true.
I’m standing in a spot so beautiful and perfect,
so filled with sunshine and flowers,
that it is surreal.

The doors and windows are all flung wide open,
and the breezes are swirling through,
each with a new delight,
of color and scent and touch,
so many opportunities at hand
that I can barely comprehend the bounty
lying at my feet,
surrounding my head,
and wrapping me in the warm joy of being alive.
Sometimes I’m almost afraid,
for this seems too good to be true.

The past has been a trial in so many ways,
and the reality of this seems fragile.
Perhaps it is.
Perhaps it won’t last forever.
But I’m willing to take that chance
and to ride on the golden wave while I can,
to sense the abundance of life
here in this place,
now in this time,
and for the rest of my life.

It has been fun watching you shyly peeking around the corner, then slowly re-blossoming into the fun, active Auntie that I remember. NM, job and friends have done wonders for you. Keep it up! Hope you find a dancing partner. S3

Lynilu...I come here every day and I wait and I wait...you obviously have lost your pen! :( Shall I send you one? I love your poetry and your photographs and I know you have been busy with the garage sales and clearing out...but I hope you will be back to this site soon. It misses you!!

Ah, Sherry, I'll work on it. Yes, it has been a bit crazy in my life, and I haven't given much thought to the poetry. I'm going on a lengthy trip soon, too, so that will likely interfere, but Ill do what I can. Thanks for the reminder.

Perhaps the lengthy trip will inspire the poetry! Sometimes seeing something new, new experiences open the door to the creative! Enjoy the trip!!

Sherry, I hope so. I am torn about going. I have had this planned and postponed a couple times, then I had to shorten it, and now as the holidays approach, part of me wants to stay home and take of in the spring. But I will go, spend Thanksgiving with my daughter and return for my first Christmas in this house. :)

I feel your indecision and your uncertainty.
I see Thanksgiving with your daughter as another stage on your personal journey and then a return to start the new chapter...to continue this new chapter of Christmas in your new home, not just your new house.
Think of the possibilities for your creative spirit. I believe you will have much to write and journal through poetry and photography.
